"I've recently solicited the services of Lila Rees, owner and operator of Rock City Tattoo, and what I can say is that she expresses her art with a level of professionalism and passion to the craft that is not often seen throughout an industry that has had a recent spike in fakers and wannabes who are thirsty for the glory associated with being a tattoo artist. Not only does she provide a personal experience, putting you at ease in an otherwise uncomfortable situation, but she does so with an attention to quality that is as meticulous as it is efficient.
In addition to the outstanding work she puts out her prices are well within reason, as attested by the fact that I drive from Boston just to have her work on me, and I can honestly say that aside from raw talent, she really cares about the work she does and the people who will be sporting her ink for years to come."

"I was nervous walking in to get my first tattoo, however when I met Lila my fears disappeared. Rock City Tattoo is the cleanest tattoo parlor I have ever seen. Lila will also do her best to make your time their worth the while. She is an amazing artist, she both designed, and did my tattoo in the same day. I now know that if I ever get another tattoo I will be going to Rock City. Lila did a tattoo commemorating my grandparents, and I know if they could see it, they would be just as happy with it as I am. Lila Rees is certainly the best tattoo artist around, and I will never go to anyone else."

"Lila's work is the absolute best in the area and I wouldn't even entertain the thought of going anywhere else for ink. Lila has done two tattoos for me, and both are exceptionally done and I get questions and comments about them often when I'm out in public. Everyone is amazed at the depth of color and how crisp the lines and details are. If your looking for a clean, comfortable, tattoo experience with one of the coolest girls around, look no further than Rock City Tattoo, and be sure to tip her well, her artwork is a bargain." "I first visited Rock City and met Lila for a consultation last April. Upon entering I was amazed by the beautifully classic decor of the shop but when I met Lila I realized that she, herself was exactly that! Lila made my tattooing experience extremely pleasant, so much so that I returned a short time later for another tattoo. She talked and asked questions and listened to my answers all the while working away on my tattoo! Lila is a very friendly, personable woman and everything she creates is a masterpiece. Both of my tattoos had very special meaning to me and Lila worked very hard with me to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted! She is extremely talented artist and I have raved about her work, her professional manner and the wonderful work she does to anyone who will listen! Thank you Lila for helping to make my ideas come to life as a gorgeous piece of art I can wear for the rest of my life." Chrissy Kimball
"After several years of wanting a tattoo, I finally broke down and got one. I would always go half way and talk myself out of it, or maybe chicken out due to pain. I have seen several friends got a terrible tattoo and an equal amount who got a great one, all in different states and by different tattoo artists.
If you know me at all you can tell that I don’t know anything about tattooing or the process that you need to go through to get one. I went into the shop for a quick consult about the idea that I was having. I showed back up two days later for the tattoo. I can honestly say that Lila takes everything into consideration before she starts doing the tattoo. I feel that she went above and beyond making me feel comfortable with the tattoo design every step of the way. I was totally at ease with the whole process. I wasn’t feeling rushed into getting a carbon copy mass produced tattoo, but a one of a kind work of art.
While getting the tattoo I was surprised that I didn’t bleed at all. I was also surprised that the whole tattoo didn’t really hurt at all. After I got the tattoo I followed the instructions given and the healing process was a snap. I didn’t have any scabbing or post bleeding or any post trauma to the skin area. My tattoo looks just as good now as the day that I received it. I can’t say enough about Lila and the great job that she does, she is truly awesome." Jason Gould Barre, Vermont
"I've been to about twelve tattoo shops around the US, Seattle, North Carolina, Georgia and Vermont. Of any of the shops I've encountered, Rock-City was the single best. Lila Rees is a true professional and will definitely be the tattoo artist that I choose in the future for additional work.
Upon entry to the shop, the decor was elegant and classy. There was no tell-tale signs (or smells) of cigarette smoke, male machismo or someone trying to sell you on whatever piece of flash was the most popular that day. In fact, I came to the shop with an idea of what I wanted, but Lila helped conceptualize the idea into a piece of art, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
My wife had never been to a tattoo shop, so she was pretty anxious about what the experience might be like, but within minutes she was chatting away with Lila and very invested in me getting inked at Rock City. (My wife being terrified of needles and yet insisting she get to watch the process anyways.)
Lila was incredibly intelligent, professional and knowledgable. I was interested in getting numerous pieces done, including a piece on my neck around collar-level. Lila offered thoughtful suggestions, while encouraging me to think about whether or not I wanted a piece I couldn't cover, especially in the line of work I do. She told me to think on it, and if I wanted it done, she'd do it. After really thinking about the piece, I decided to have it placed lower on my shoulder/neck area so that I could keep it concealed.
My tattoo came out better than I could have imagined. I will be visiting Lila in the near future for a second. With Lila's artistic ability and professionalism, I've encouraged many of my co-workers to get their work done at Rock City. I wouldn't spend my hard earned money anywhere else for ink." "Lila is one of the best tattooists I have ever had the pleasure of getting inked by. She is very professional and very anal. Lila will take her time with your original idea and make it into something amazing for you. Lila is well prepared with her equipment and time, she practices what ever original tattoo piece she’s doing several different ways before sticking it to you. She can do pick ‘em and stick ‘em with ease as well. I like Lila because she has a delicate hand with a foul mouth. Lila is chill and is very funny even though she’s still a shit. Her tattoo rooms are the cleanest and sterile rooms I have ever been in. Lila is the only person I trust in the state of Vermont to do my tattoos. Her prices are fair and her work is amazing, I look forward to getting more work done by Lila in the future. If you want professional work done by a professional tattooist, Lila is your girl." "Lila did my first tattoo and have been counting the days until I can get another. Lila made me feel at ease and comfortable during the process! Lila is extremely professional, but spunk and a kick ass attitude!" Heidi Washington,VT
"Lila has done 3 big pieces for me now. One cover up and two originals. On my cover-up, Lila designed a perfect cover...one that doesn't look like a cover, and one that fits me and my style of tattoo. There is no one else I could sit with for 3 hours at a time while getting pounded with a needle. Lila is an amazingly talented artist, and an intelligent, smart and funny person. She is the ONLY tattoo artist in Central Vermont that I would send my friends and family to for tattoos, and the only person I will go to for MY work. I can't wait to see her for my next piece!"

"In early 2008, my ex-husband went to Aartistic Inc and met Lila. I was less than impressed to hear he had gotten something like a female skull tattoo on his forearm … until I saw it. It was the greatest, most original looking piece of art. From that point on, tattoos have looked completely different to me. I had a kanji “tramp stamp” and had always wanted it to be something different. When I saw Lila’s artwork, I knew that whatever I chose would be great. I got a female aviator head (because Lila said "it doesn't have to mean something - it means you have a cool tattoo")It was similar to something from the 1940’s, but with a Lila spin. I could never imagine that I would be proud to show off a “tramp stamp.” The face was formed with such a precise line, smooth shading all over and the most solid bright red lips, green eyes and black hair. All Lila’s artwork is amazing and creative. Although, reluctantly, she probably does the best tribal “tramp stamps” and kanjis around—her own style is the only way I would go. It’s one-of-a-kind, the most appealing and eye-catching I’ve ever seen. If you go anywhere else for a rockin’ tattoo, you’re making a poor decision."

"Rock City Tattoo was started from scratch by one of the most phenomenal tattoo artists I know. Her work is real, and top of the line. Anything you can think of, she can make it better or improve your needs. She will exceed your standards and make you tattooing experience a great one, whether its your first or one of many. Come to the tattoo shop and check it out. You will not disappointed whatsoever."
